North York Historical Society Donates Valuable Collection to North York Public Library

When local history author Scott Kennedy first heard that the North York Historical Society (NYHS) had donated over 6,000 pages of scrapbooks containing more than 1,600 historical photographs to Toronto Public Library’s North York Central branch, he thought the partnership between the volunteer-run historical society and the City-owned library was a great idea.
Recognizing Excellence in Ontario’s Heritage Community
In 1967, the Ontario Historical Society (OHS) established an awards programme to recognize individuals, organizations, corporations and authors who have made significant contributions to the preservation and promotion of Ontario’s history and heritage.

WILLOWDALE, ON, July 15, 2015 – The Ontario Historical Society (OHS) is excited to announce the launch of OHS Reach, the initial one-year development stage of a three-year initiative to transform how the Society interacts with members, subscribers, and other stakeholders, and to furnish the expansion of online services and access.
The Ontario Historical Society was awarded a 2015 Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) grant in support of OHS Reach.
